The Service

Budget AI is a personal finance planning tool that helps you manage budgets, track expenses, and interact with an AI assistant about your financial data. The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Alpha Status

The service is in active development. Features may change, break, or be removed at any time without notice. Access may be revoked at any time, for any reason, at our sole discretion. We may discontinue the service entirely at any time.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. One account per person. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time without notice.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, interfere with the proper functioning of the service, use automated means to access the service without permission, or use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.

Your Data

You own the financial data you input into Budget AI. You grant us a license to use, store, and process this data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. We do not provide financial, tax, or investment advice.

AI Features

The AI assistant may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading responses. AI outputs do not constitute financial advice. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on information from the service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Budget AI and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Budget AI and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We are not obligated to notify you of changes.

What We Collect

• Account information: email address and password (hashed) when you create an account.
• Financial data: budget data, income sources, expenses, bank account balances, and other financial information you input into the service.
• Usage data: basic analytics such as pages visited, features used, and error logs to improve the service.

AI & Your Data

The AI assistant receives your budget data and linked bank account data (balances and recent transactions) to provide contextual responses. No personally identifiable information (such as your name or email) is shared with the AI by default. Personal information is only included in AI interactions if you explicitly type it into the chat yourself.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide, maintain, and improve the service.
• To authenticate your identity and secure your account.
• To generate AI-powered insights about your financial data.
• To communicate with you about the service (e.g., critical updates).

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
• We do not use your financial data for advertising or profiling.
• We do not share your data with third parties except as necessary to operate the service (e.g., hosting, database providers).

Third-Party Services

We use third-party infrastructure providers to host and operate the service. Your data may be processed by these providers under their respective privacy policies. We select providers that offer appropriate security measures, but we are not responsible for their practices.
